Two Days Left to Bid on Actual Tron Lightcycle

You’ve got two days left, folks, to bid on one of five custom-built lightcycles from Parker Brothers Motorcycles on eBay. In case you’re not familiar with a lightcycle, it’s one of the motorcycles used in the movie Tron. We’re not talking about props here, either…we’re talking about actual, working, to-spec, street legal motorcycles that look exactly like the ones in the upcoming movie Tron.
tron lightcycle

There are five of them in the works, each in a different color: one the pictured blue above, but also available in red, yellow, green and orange. The wheels are custom made, dual hubless, with custom tires, and should you be planning a long trip on this sucker you can buy additional tires from Parker Brothers as needed. The frame is a mix of cold-rolled steel, carbon fiber and fiberglass, while the colors are generated via neon tubes behind frosted plexiglass and can be turned off and on as desired.
They’re currently selling for a whopping $35000 each, but with that comes a free Tron helmet, as well as the opportunity to watch your new bike being built on YouTube. Value? Not hardly. Cool? Absolutely.

The second ugliest motorcycle I've ever seen

second-ugliest-motorcycle-build-your-own.jpg It is in Russian so I can't tell much about this monster, but that is OK. In this sort of situation words fail you anyway.
For a closer look without having to wait for the slow site to load take a look here.
Update: Now in Purple...
I think it looked better in black, but apparently the owner has painted the thing purple and yellow with some aluminum corrugated ducting. One can only hope that an errant can of brake fluid lands on it to bring it back towards the original aesthetic conception. Here it is in all ugliness:

Fighter-jet-inspired motorcycle doesn't skimp — not even on the minigun

Icon-A-10-Warthog-Motorcycle.jpg
The motorcycle nuts at ICON Motorsports make an interesting observation about their Warthog bike, inspired by the USAF's A-10 ground-attack fighter that shares the same nickname: "Obviously the first thing that grabs one's attention is the 800-watt MTX audio system." Well, sure, that's impressive — but I think the minigun mounted to the front of the 'cycle caught my eye first. That, and it's hard to miss that the whole thing is decal'd to the nines with ammunition. But I'm sure that audio system sounds killer, too.
The Warthog does everything it can to look mean and fast, and has a few added, nutty frills, such as an 8-inch LCD screen "to view Full Metal Jacket, Iron Eagle, or Top Gun and the ability to broadcast a view of the victims left in its wake via an integrated rear view camera."
Worried you won't be able to rock a bike like the Warthog? Well, a matching helmet should give you the confidence you need. Check out the gallery below for more of the Icon Warthog, and click through for a video of the bike in action.

the uno: motorcycle meets segway

Think the Segway is just too geeky for your Born to Be Wild bad boy lifestyle? Then check out this cool new motorcycle born at the intersection of Geek Street and Hog Heaven Avenue.
Uno Gyroscopic Motorcycle
The Uno is a self-balancing motorcycle that uses a pair of gyroscopes to constantly keep its rider upright.
Uno Motorcycle Front View
Designed by 18-year old inventor Ben J. Poss Gulak (and built with the help of a team of bike builders and engineers), the 120-pound motorcycle is so easy to ride, its only control is a single on-off switch. To ride forward, lean forward, to reverse, simply lean back. The degree to which you lean increases or decreases your velocity. By using a pair of wheels, the bike can also make turns based on your side-to-side movements.
Uno Motorcycle Side View
The one-of-a-kind motorcycle was recently demonstrated at the 2008 National Motorcycle Show in Toronto, Canada. Its current whereabouts are unknown, but I’m pretty sure you’ll recognize it if you see it coming down the road.

ALL New MotorCycle

ALL New MotorCycle

Designed by the race track
Ducati Superbikes are race bikes, pure and simple. Their striking aerodynamic shapes create a natural riding position, confirmed by our development and factory team riders as the optimum for speed and agility. Performance is first and foremost in every detail.

Trademark Ducati features like the high tail section and compact front end combine with twin under-seat silencers and single-sided swingarm to express the sheer engineering beauty of aerodynamics and agility. Add the Testastretta Evoluzione engines as the hearts of the machines and the result is all-out performance Ducati Superbikes that look fast even when parked.

S philosophy
The 'S' version Superbike creates a dream package by taking everything that the 1198 model has and adding top-of-the-range suspension, lightweight chassis components and Ducati's impressive DTC traction control system.

The 'S' sets the standard for lightweight performance. On any sport or race bike, the most effective area to reduce weight is its 'unsprung weight'. These are components like tyres, brakes and wheels. Lighter wheels have a lower 'moment of inertia' that is beneficial with every direction change and application of the brakes. The 1198 S addresses this important area by mounting forged and machined wheels. Both front and rear are super lightweight and their benefit is immediately apparent. The weight saving is further enhanced with the application of a carbon fibre front fender.

Ducati Corse Special Edition
The winning of both the 2009 World Superbike and Superstock Manufacturers’ titles is a fitting stage on which to present two exclusive and exciting special editions built to mark the historic introduction of a new Ducati Corse logo. The 1198 S Corse Special Edition and 1198 R Corse Special Edition are both equipped with factory team-style aluminium fuel tanks, Ducati Traction Control and a special celebratory Ducati Corse livery.
