The Yamaha Road Star

The Yamaha Road Star
Undertaken on my bike. Total time was about 2 1/2 hours. It probably could have been done in 45 minutes to an hour but I was taking pics and making notes. I recently acquired a set of "Hurricane Studded" bags from Mike Battles at Custom Classic Saddlebags, which happened to come with a set of Easy Brackets. The Hurricane's are generic bags not made specifically for the Road Star (more about the bags at the end of the article), so this set of instructions should apply to just about any bike with Generic bags assuming the correct Easy Bracket kit is ordered to fit the bike.

I am fair weathered motorcyclist and like to have my boys toys to play with. I am off tomorrow to purchase the actual bike shown. It is a mint condition Yamaha YZF-R1 high performance 1000cc sports bike, 160hp, standing quarter of a mile in 10.2 seconds and a top speed of 175mph. It has only done 9000 miles and never been used in the wet, and comes with a full service history. If you believe there's more to life than work, and the real definition of freedom 55 is riding your bike without a care at 55 mph, then the heart of a cruiser beats within you. If you believe that chrome and leather are the basic building blocks of life, and that the only real artery is made of asphalt then jump on a Yamaha and experience the pleasure of cruising the endless black ribbon.
